The Upper Moreland-Hatboro Joint Sewer Authority provides collection, conveyance and treatment of wastewater from its customers in Hatboro Borough and Upper Moreland Township, and services portions of Bryn Athyn Borough, Horsham Township, Upper Dublin Township and Warminster Township. Our major goal is to protect the water quality of local and US waterways: the Pennypack Creek, Delaware River, Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean.
Effective March 1, 2013, the Upper Moreland-Hatboro Joint Sewer Authority will increase rates for both residential and commercial customers. The new rates for sewer service are:
•. Minimum charge increases from $28.75 to $31.05 for up to 5,000 gallons . Rate for all usage in excess of 5,000 gallons will increase from $5.75 to $6.21 per thousand gallons . Fixture rates will increase 8% for well water users
• . Minimum charge increases from $36.00 to $38.90 for up to 5,000 gallons
• . Rate for all usage in excess of 5,000 gallons will increase from $7.20 to $7.78 per thousand gallons
Please note that the previously advertised service charge in our Fall-Winter 2012 Newsletter has been rescinded by the Authority Board of Directors. Despite the above increase, the rates paid by our customers remain less than the majority of the surrounding communities. The Authority is carefully monitoring potential regulatory changes that may require significant capital improvements and further rate increases.
